MNU Administration plans for future expansions

In November of 2009, the board of Trustees approved "Priority: 2014," which is a five-year strategic plan for MNU.

The plan has six major strategic objectives. First, the school wants to have a mission based enrollment with 1,300 traditional undergraduate students and 1,500 adult and graduate students in professional programs.

Residence Hall Council passes resolution to cut itself back

The Residence Hall Council and Associated Student Government have passed a proposal to lessen RHC responsibilities in the coming school year.

On Feb. 2, the proposal to cut the number of council positions, as well as the council's budget and responsibilities, was passed by the RHC large council.

Campus Safety cracks down on parking violators

Campus Safety has been tightening the enforcement of parking rules and issuing citations over the past few weeks.

The focus of this new ticket blitz is on the parking outside of Campus Center and in the Smith-Metz parking lot, as parking in both of these areas is limited.

You may have noticed a new craze in the past few months involving the networking site Facebook. Several people have started deleting their accounts and leaving the site for good.

It may be because they find it too time consuming or that the Web site has gotten too big.

Pioneer softball recruits for the future

Expectations are high for the MNU softball team, coming off a successful season and an appearance in the HAAC postseason.

"We want to finish with 30 wins and top four in the conference," head coach Steven Babinski said.

With only three seniors returning, Babinski and his coaching staff brought in five junior college transfers to offset the youth movement.

The Pioneer Men's Basketball program moved to fourth place in Heart of America Athletic Conference after defeating Graceland University 96-77 on Thursday, Feb. 11.

The game began with both Graceland and MNU trading baskets and keeping the score close. However, the Pioneers took an 11-2 run before the half, which secured them up by 13.
