Sister Diane Steele, President of the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan., will be the speaker for the MidAmerica Nazarene University undergraduate commencement ceremony on May 2. Steele has been the president of USM since 2001. Along with her presidential duties, she serves on numerous councils and committees including: Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, Executive Committee of the Kansas Independent Colleges Association and the Leavenworth/Lansing Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
NBC Action News KSHB-TV was on the campus of MidAmerica Nazarene University for the presentation of $50,000 to Heart-to-Heart International from the students of MNU. This was in fulfillment of this year's missions project goal to raise the money to build a medial clinic in the town of Patanatic, Guatemala.
On April 8, students all across campus joined with thousands of others around the world in going barefoot for One Day Without Shoes. At MidAmerica Nazarene University, the event was put on by the senior class, but was part of a larger endeavor started by TOMS Shoes.
The Choral Union will hold their final concert of the semester Sunday, April 25 on campus in the Bell Cultural Center starting at 3:30 pm. Symphony of Songs will be the major work being performed, which is a collection of psalm settings and hymn arrangements for chorus and orchestra.

The Pioneer women's basketball program will have a new face come this fall season. Karen Lange, former lead Assistant Coach to Bonnie Henrickson at the University of Kansas, will step in for Coach Bill Olin as the new women's basketball coach. Lange comes to MNU as a former player herself at the University of Iowa.
